Former teammate Garry Harris opened up about his experiences with Nikola Jokic during the Serbian star’s early years in the NBA.

Harris, who played alongside Jokic for six years, recognized the exceptional talent that the big man possessed right from the beginning of his career.

Now, Jokic stands as a two-time NBA MVP and one of the prime contenders for his third consecutive MVP title in 2023. Despite this impressive track record, Jokic remains remarkably humble about his achievements.

“He literally has no ego… Once you give him attention, he doesn’t even want all that attention,” Harris said. “He didn’t really wanna win that MVP this year. Once they started talking about all the other stuff – the different narratives – he was just like, I’m cool, I’m straight.”

Beyond MVP accolades, he reached a pinnacle last season by leading the Nuggets to their first-ever NBA championship. Jokic’s exceptional skills and team-oriented approach culminated in him also securing the Finals MVP award.
