Former Nuggets player Troy Daniels recently spoke highly of two-time MVP and 2023 NBA champion, Nikola Jokic. Having briefly played alongside the Serbian star during the 2019-20 season, Daniels had a front-row view of Jokic’s exceptional talents.

Daniels marveled at Jokic’s all-around abilities, stating, “He was absolutely unbelievable, the way he can pass the ball, the way he can dribble the ball, his IQ. He can shoot the ball. He can literally do everything” (h/t Mark Berman of The Roanoke Times).

Jokic’s skills are undeniably impressive, and his unique playing style has made him one of the most dominant players in the league. Despite not having the traditional athletic build associated with many NBA stars, Jokic has excelled on the court with his exceptional basketball IQ and finesse.

Daniels highlighted this aspect, acknowledging, “What’s the most amazing part is his frame. No disrespect to him, but his frame is not like a Dwight Howard frame. It’s more of a lazy type of frame … where he doesn’t have muscles.”

Despite not fitting the typical athletic mold, Jokic’s abilities have earned him back-to-back MVP awards in 2021 and 2022 and led the Nuggets to an NBA championship in 2023, where he was also crowned Finals MVP.

Jokic’s impact on the game goes beyond just scoring and rebounding; his court vision and playmaking skills set him apart as one of the league’s most versatile and exciting players to watch.

As Jokic’s career continues to unfold, it’s evident that his talent and passion for the game are taking him to new heights, proving that greatness in basketball comes in various forms.
