Damian Lillard has remained loyal to the Trail Blazers throughout his NBA career, but he could eventually request a trade if Portland fails to land an elite player that would help the team win now.
It has been reported that the Blazers are shopping a package of Anfernee Simons along with the number 3 overall pick (either Scoot Henderson or Brandon Miller).
One team closely watching the situation – not because they would target Lillard – is the Wizards. According to Marc Stein, Washington who is working on a Bradley Beal trade, is worried that Portland’s star hitting the market would complicate their own trade.
If he becomes available, Dame is the primary target for the Heat, a team that is also one of the frontrunners to land Beal. In addition, Lillard has publicly said that he would like to be traded to Miami.
