Mikal Bridges uses weightlifting to unwind postgame

New York Knicks forward Mikal Bridges explained why he regularly lifts weights after games, revealing that his postgame workouts help him relax and fall asleep following the intense atmosphere at Madison Square Garden.

Bridges said that playing in front of the Knicks’ home crowd generates a significant amount of adrenaline, which does not immediately disappear once the game ends.

According to the veteran forward, the excitement and noise inside Madison Square Garden can leave players feeling energized long after the final buzzer, making it difficult to unwind.

“Being at the games, especially playing at MSG – the atmosphere, the crowd, so much going on, so loud. You don’t understand until you walk out of there how much adrenaline you have. So that just carries on when you’re done playing.

“Try to calm myself down a little bit after games from all the adrenaline. I try to lift. By the time I’m done lifting hard that hopefully I slow down a little bit, help me sleep.”
