The Heat was among those teams that did not make any trades before the trade deadline. According to Miami’s head coach Erik Spoelstra, that’s the philosophy of his team.

He thinks that the current roster’s life span has not expired and believed that it can still do well in the playoffs.

“This is an organizational philosophy since Pat [Riley] got here,” Spoelstra said, per Barry Jackson. “You see it through. Each team has a life span to it. We haven’t seen it through [with this group]. We feel we have a great opportunity for these 27 games & playoffs.”

Miami is currently sixth in the Eastern Conference with 31 wins and 25 losses.
