Nets sophomore Cam Thomas joined LeBron James as the two youngest players to score 44 points in consecutive games after he dropped 44 points against the Wizards and 47 against the Clippers.

After the Clippers game he was asked about achieving this record. Turns out the 21-year-old shooting guard is a fan of Kobe Bryant and would have been more excited if it was the late Lakers superstar whose record he would have tied.

“That’s great company… I’m a Kobe guy though, so if you said Kobe I would’ve been a little more excited,” Thomas said, per Erik Slater.

Thomas has not seen much playing time in Brooklyn until lately. He is averaging 8.4 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 14.5 minutes per game.
