The NBA announced Friday that Dillon Brooks is suspended for one game without pay while Donovan Mitchell is fined $20,000 for their on-court altercation in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 128-113 Thursday home win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

The incident occurred in the middle of the game’s third frame when Brooks suddenly hit Mitchell in the groin, and Mitchell responded by hurling the ball towards the forward to escalate the event. Both engaged in a scuffle that quickly prompted both team units to separate them.

The officials slapped Brooks with a Flagrant Foul and an ejection, with Mitchell also taking a premature exit with a technical foul.

Right at his postgame availability, Mitchell called out Brooks for his unsportsmanlike conduct.

“That’s just who he is. We’ve seen it a bunch in this league with him. … Quite frankly, I’ve been busting his a– for years. Playoffs, regular season. The one game he does an all right job on me today, he decides to do something like that. There’s no place for that in the game.”

Per NBA, Brooks’ suspension will take place on Feb. 5 when the Grizzlies take on the visiting Toronto Raptors.
