With Kevin Durant being out with an injury, it is time for Kyrie Irving to assume the leadership and make sure his team continues winning, says former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins.

He reminded that last season Durant was in that role when Irving missed games. According to Perkins, this has been under a question mark since Kyrie entered the NBA.

“This has been the question mark on Kyrie his entire career since he was drafted with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Can he lead a team to get wins as the top dog without another superstar along side of him?” Perkins asked rhethoricaly.

This season Irving is averaging 26 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 36.5 minutes per game.
