Ja Morant is unfazed by the comments he produced about that personal remarks that he has no fears and worries in the Western Conference, and ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies’ matchup on Friday, he can only add up motivational fuel for the Phoenix Suns.

“I’m standing on that (about his ESPN interview comment about Celtics compared to other West teams),” Morant said, per Dana Scott of Arizona Republic. “I stamp it. … (Suns) are in the Western conference, right? I said ‘I was fine’ in the Western conference.”

Entering the Friday contest, the Grizzlies are sitting in the top two of the Western Conference behind the Denver Nuggets with a 19-13 card. They’ve lost their last two games on the road against the Nuggets and OKC Thunder, as they will look to cut their losing slump against the Suns before heading to San Francisco for a marquee Christmas showdown with the Golden State Warriors.

While his confident comments in front of ESPN’s Malika Andrews truly created a public stir, there should be no one that must underestimate the horrors and bloodbath that can take place within the Western Conference. By looking at the teams, there are over eight teams who are capable enough to make a strong push and compete for a title.

With the season still too early, we can only wait for what will unfold for Morant and the Grizzlies as they enter the postseason arena in April.
