The Suns are going through a rough stretch of the season having lost 6 of their last 9 games. Most recently Phoenix lost against Washington, a team that was on a 10-game losing streak.

During the game there was a heated exchange on the Suns bench. The most active people in the incident were head coach Monty Williams and Deandre Ayton, the two that had their differences last season.

NBA legend Charles Barkley, who spent four year in Phoenix as a player, is concerned with his former team. According to him, there is something that’s not right within the locker room.

“I told you Ernie there’s something going on with my team and I don’t feel good about them right now, I’m not gonna lie,” he said on Inside The NBA. “I watched this team play quite a bit and there’s something going on in the locker room and I don’t know if they can fix it.”

Chuck then proceeded to give his opinion on what is actually happening within the team. “It all started last year in the playoffs when they got into it and [Monty Williams] benched Ayton and it was an awful game,” Barkley said.

“But something started out and then when training camp started, they asked Deandre ‘Have you and Monty settled your differences?’ he says ‘I haven’t talked to coach.’ I’m, like, ‘What?’ You can’t have that kind of stuff on the team because you have to be all in or you’re not in.

“For me I can tell because I’ve been in NBA for 40 years, you can tell when something’s not working. They’re going to have to figure it out. Because right now, it’s not working. They’re going to win a lot of games cause they got talent, but they’re not even close to being a championship contender anymore.”

The Suns are currently in the 5th place in the Western Conference with 19 wins and 13 losses.
