The Nuggets and the Suns are set to meet in the second round of the NBA playoffs, following their respective series wins against the Timberwolves and the Clippers. Both teams won their series 4-1, and the upcoming matchup will pit the No.1 seed against the No.4 seed.

NBA legend Charles Barkley recently shared his thoughts on the upcoming matchup, expressing his belief that the Nuggets have a better chance of progressing to the Western Conference Finals. “I think [the Nuggets’] depth, I think that [Jamal] Murray against [Devin] Booker is got to be must television,” Barkley said on TNT. “I think [Aaron] Gordon trying to guard KD is going to be a must see television.”

Barkley continued by stating, “Joker is gonna be the difference and the depth of the Denver Nuggets. In my opinion, that’s going to be the difference. But man, those two one-on-one matchups are going to be fabulous. I think the depth of the Nuggets… We don’t even know how great [Nikola Jokic] is. He is amazing player. I think this is the year they get to the Conference Finals again.”

Barkley’s comments are likely to further fuel the already high anticipation for the upcoming series between the Nuggets and the Suns. Fans of both teams will be eagerly anticipating the start of the series to see whether the Nuggets’ depth and Jokic’s dominance will prove too much for the Suns to handle, or if Phoenix’s strong play in the playoffs so far will continue to carry them through to the next round.
