Ja Morant has been taking strides since entering the NBA three years ago. The 23-year-old point guard is currently one of the best players in the league.

According to a former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins, this season the Grizzlies star is set to enter the MVP conversation. He makes a point that Morant can do everything on the court and is a true leader that his teammates can look up to.

“When you talking about Ja Morant, listen, this shouldn’t surprise us. We should know this guy is going to be in the MVP conversation, if not winning MVPs in the near future,” Perkins said on ESPN’s NBA Today, per Nico Martinez of Fadeaway World.

“Right now, there’s nothing he can’t do. When you talk about being a floor general, he can do that. When you talk about scoring with the best of them, he proved that he can do that.”

Last season Morant averaged 27.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists in 33.1 minutes per game for Memphis.
