The trade of CJ McCollum to the New Orleans Pelicans rocked the NBA just before the trade deadline. Over the seven games that the 30-year-old shooting guard has played for his team he is averaging career high 28 minutes per game.

During a recent interview McCollum said that he is enjoying himself in New Orleans and is excited about the future. “I’m enjoying my time in New Orleans, happy to be there,” he said.

“They accepted me with open arms. The food is tremendous, the people are great. We’re putting together a winning culture with Willie (Green). I’m excited about the future.”

The Pelicans are currently in tenth place in the Western Conference – good enough for a spot in the play-in tournament.
