The Los Angeles Lakers were forced to add a new player as they had a number of players out, due to the health and safety protocols and injuries.

The purple and gold picked up former All-Star Isaiah Thomas, who signed a 10-day contract with the team. He has appeared in two games for the Lakers so far, starting in one of them. Thomas scored 19 and 13 points as his team lost both games.

According to Lakers legend James Worthy, the addition of Thomas is a big plus for the team. “I always liked Isaiah [Thomas] when he was in Boston before his hip injury,” Worthy said on Spectrum SportsNet. “He’s a scorer, he’s a quick scorer too. He knows how to get his points and when he gets hot, he can give you 8-10 points quickly.

“For what he doesn’t have on the defensive end he compensates with his savviness, getting his hands in, stealing, digging at balls. In Chicago game we saw Westbrook miss a layup and usually it’s the center that comes in and follow up but Isaiah didn’t give up.

“So he’s a smart little player and I think he can inject some offense for sure but just his experience over time, he’s back healthier than he ever was, I think that’s a big plus for us.”
