Every single Golden State Warriors fan is excited to see Klay Thompson playing once again. After missing back-to-back seasons, the phenom shooter is even pumped up for his return.

But, he asked for one particular thing in this waiting process: patience.

On Thursday, Thompson posted a picture of him dribbling while wearing the Warriors’ new “Moments Mixtape” City Edition jerseys with a caption “Hey DubNation, it’s coming. Just stay patient with me. These black uni’s go hard btw,” pleading the fans to extend their faith on his recovery.

Thompson was sidelined first after an awkward fall which resulted from a torn ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. Then, it was followed by a huge setback once again, as he suffered a gruesome torn Achilles before the start of 2020-2021 season.

And now fully recovered and conditioning himself, the Dubs organization hasn’t released any date for his comeback. But, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski detailed on Wednesday that the three-time champion might finally suit up his basketball gear officially before Christmas

“I’m told if he continues on his current course right now in rehab, that a target date for his return will be set probably within the next couple weeks,” Wojnarowski stated on “NBA Countdown” on Wednesday. “And it could be –there’s optimism it could be as soon as December 20, December 23. The Warriors have home games before Christmas, and so the plan for Klay Thompson is to continue to ramp up.

“The Warriors will go on a road trip in mid-December, and at that point, if Klay continues on this track, he’d go down and play with the Warriors’ G League team. And the idea is, and the hope is, they’ll have him back perhaps prior to Christmas.”

Obviously a positive and uplifting update, but like what Klay said earlier, patience.

The Warriors are scheduled to meet the visiting Chicago Bulls for an enticing duel inside the Chase Center on Friday.
