One of the NBA’s premiere stars could be on the move this coming offseason. According to Henry Abbott of True Hoop, Damian Lillard is about to ask to be traded by the Portland Trail Blazers in the coming days.

The 31-year-old point guard spent nine years — his entire professional career — in Portland and after failing to win a championship during that time he appears to be ready to join another team. The closer the Blazers got winning a title with Lillard was in 2019 when the team reached the Western Conference Final where they were swept by the Golden State Warriors.

Rapper and founder of Big 3 league Ice Cube recently said Dame should join the Los Angeles Lakers if he wants to win a championship. It remains to be seen if indeed Lillard wants his way out of Portland. If he does, there will be a tremendous interest in his services from other NBA teams.

Prior to this season, James Harden requested a trade, but his request was not fulfilled which led to a prolonged tension before eventually the Houston Rockets reached an agreement with the Brooklyn Nets.
