Keldon Johnson and JaVale McGee will replace Bradley Beal and Kevin Love on Team USA’s roster for the Olympics, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Johnson is a member of the select team and has been practicing and playing with Team USA, while McGee will travel to Las Vegas to join the team on July 17.

Johnson, 21, has developed into a favorite of Team USA’s decision-makers and staff, Wojnarowski notes.

McGee, 33, is a 13-year NBA veteran and three-time champion and will provide Team USA with frontcourt depth as a rim protector.

Beal is unable to play in the Tokyo Olympic Games due to health and safety protocols, while Love withdrew from Team USA as he returns to full strength from a right calf injury that kept him out a significant part of the NBA season.

Milwaukee Bucks’ Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday and Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker will eventually join Team USA once the NBA Finals are complete.

Team USA flies to Tokyo on July 19 before beginning their Olympic tournament on July 25 against France.
