Andre Drummond’s former coach Dwane Casey thinks that his former player can provide significant help to his new team the Los Angeles Lakers.
The 27-year-old center played under the head coach of the Detroit Pistons for almost two seasons before getting traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2020.
“I think he’ll be a big help to the Lakers with his size and athleticism,” Casey said of Drummond, per James Edwards III. “Andre is a smart guy. He’ll fit in. He’ll know the system.”
The Lakers will have to wait before they will be able to see their new addition play big minutes. Drummond played just 14 minutes in his debut game against the Milwaukee Bucks and had to exit early due to a toe injury. The team expects him to miss 1-2 games.
