The status of Memphis Grizzlies’ Jaren Jackson Jr. will be officially updated again “later this month or early next month,” according to Chris Herrington of The Daily Memphian.

This suggests that his absence will extend for a few more weeks at minimum.

Despite still being out for the foreseeable future, Jackson is still, “fully expected to play this season,” notes Herrington.

Jackson has not played this season after recovering from meniscus surgery.

The 21-year-old suffered a torn meniscus on Aug. 3, 2020 during the NBA season restart in the Orlando bubble.

Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said pregame on March 10 that Jackson hadn’t experienced live contact in the last week.

Jenkins also noted that Jackson has been “diligent” in doing everything that has been asked of him in his recovery process as he works to get back.

Jackson increased his basketball activities in February and has returned to practice in a limited capacity.
