Jaren Jackson Jr. delivered his most efficient scoring night in weeks Monday, finishing with 31 points as the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 121-103 at Intuit Dome. Jackson scored 21 points in the first half, setting the tone early for a road victory.
Memphis improved to 12-14 and beat Los Angeles for the third time in less than three weeks. The Grizzlies controlled the paint, forced turnovers, and pulled away decisively in the second half.
Cam Spencer provided a major lift off the bench with a career-high 27 points. The guard knocked down seven three-pointers on 10 attempts, including four in a six-minute stretch of the fourth quarter.
Jaylen Wells added 16 points, while rookie Cedric Coward finished with 12. Ja Morant scored 12 points in his second game back from a calf injury and helped stabilize the offense during key stretches.
Jackson shot 13 of 18 from the field, including 4 of 5 from beyond the arc. It marked his first 20-point game in six outings after averaging 10.2 points over the previous five contests.
The Grizzlies played without center Zach Edey for the second straight game because of a left ankle injury. Santi Aldama started at center again but was limited to three points and two rebounds.
Los Angeles fell to 6-20 and continued to struggle at home, dropping its eighth straight game at Intuit Dome. The Clippers last won in their own building on Oct. 31.
Kawhi Leonard led Los Angeles with 21 points, while Kris Dunn contributed 17. James Harden was held to 13 points, and John Collins and Jordan Miller each scored 10.
The Clippers briefly grabbed momentum midway through the third quarter when Leonard’s three-pointer gave them a 64-63 lead. Memphis responded immediately with a 9-0 run to seize control.
Wells scored four points during the surge, and the Grizzlies closed the quarter ahead 90-76. From there, the visitors dictated pace and spacing.
Memphis finished the night shooting 52 percent from the field and 41 percent from three-point range. The Grizzlies also recorded nine blocks, led by Jackson’s five.
Los Angeles shot 46 percent overall but struggled to match Memphis’ physicality and ball movement. The Clippers committed 18 turnovers, which consistently fueled transition opportunities.
The Grizzlies travel to Minnesota on Wednesday night looking to build momentum. The Clippers head to Oklahoma City on Thursday as they search for answers amid an extended slide.
