The absence of Dennis Schroder opened the opportunity to other guards of the Los Angeles Lakers to play more minutes. One of them is sophomore Talen Horton-Tucker whose role is increasing this season.

According to the Lakers head coach Frank Vogel, the prime objective is to win games and not just to give minutes to certain players.

“We’re gonna compete to win games. So if he’s playing, he will be in there,” Vogel said when asked whether THT will get more minutes regardless if he’s making mistakes or not. “He’s gonna get an opportunity to be in there each night. Just like the rest of our guys. If you play well within your minutes, your minutes grow. So he’s gonna have those opportunities for sure.”

The 20-year-old guard played 28 minutes against the Nets, which is 11 minutes above his season average. During that time, he collected 9 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists.
