With the three Lakers superstars LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook being out against the Warriors, other players were given a chance to display their talents.

Talen Horton-Tucker seized the opportunity as he dropped career-high 40 points. Los Angeles ended up losing though (112-128). It was the team’s eighth loss in a row.

After the game Lakers head coach Frank Vogel spoke about THT’s performance. “Talen was great tonight,” he said. “Really just had a look about him that he was going to attack this game.

“Played with a great deal of determination, put more pressure on the paint, on the rim than we’ve seen in a lot of our games this year. Just the downhill nature of his game was really good.

“The best fit for him is with the ball in his hands with shooters around him. We haven’t been able to create that type of role for him but you could see what he can do when he has that type of setting. Really proud of his performance tonight.”
