Wesley Matthews returned to action for the Los Angeles Lakers after missing four games. The 34-year-old veteran had one of his best games of the season with 16 points in 26 minutes of play. After the game, he received praise from LeBron James for being a true professional.

“He’s a true professional, man,” James said. “We all know what we signed for when we came here and Wes is the same. That’s competitive spirit. I don’t think anyone would comfortable with not playing. For the team and for the grand scheme of things you just stay ready and he did that. You never know what’s going to happen.

“He didn’t know what AC was going to out, didn’t know AD was going to be out tonight. He has just been putting in work behind closed doors, behind the cameras and things of that nature. Just staying ready. Tonight was that opportunity and he made the most out of it.

“For me, I trust every teammate that’s on the floor with me. You’re on the floor with me late game, first quarter, throughout, it doesn’t matter. He put himself into position, I was able to find him and he knocked it down,” LeBron concluded.
