Lakers have been forced to change their plans regarding practice and game preparation due to the shortened regular season.

The coaching staff of the Lakers has decided to give players extra days of rest in non-game days to avoid any injuries, because of the 71-day offseason.

As Harrison Faigen of Silver Screen and Roll reports, the Lakers have had only six mandatory practices and two mandatory shootarounds since the start of the season.

“With this season, it’s very difficult to get those practice minutes on the floor and know what works and what does not work. A lot of our games are like big practices for us too. We have to learn on the fly,” LeBron James said, via Faigen.

Despite the lack of practice, the Lakers have been great in the first part of the season, being third in the West with a 15-6 record.
