Wesley Matthews will face his former team for the first time this season as the Los Angeles Lakers are set to play against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday.

Matthews is a Wisconsin native, who played for Marquette during his collegiate career. He returned last season signing with the Bucks and starting in every game.

The savvy veteran knows exactly what his former team can bring to the table as the Lakers are about to start a tough 7-game road trip.

“We’ve got to bounce back from that Golden State loss,” Matthews said. “We’ve got a tough road trip ahead of us, starting with Milwaukee. They’ve got great players all across the board, great team.

“We’re going to have our work cut out for us.”

Frank Vogel’s team will try to bounce back from Monday’s loss to the Golden State Warriors facing the back-to-back reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo for the first time this season.

The two teams split their regular season series last year with both claiming victory in their home court.
