The players of the Los Angeles Lakers reacted to the trade of James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Anthony Davis were not surprised by the news that Harden joined the Nets.

“No one knew it was going to happen that quick. … We all knew he wanted out. It wasn’t a surprise,” Caldwell-Pope said.

“He got to one of his destinations. He wanted to play there. We’ll see how it goes. … They look good on paper. We’ll see how it goes when those guys get in between the lines and get a chance to play alongside each other,” Davis noted, via Ryan Ward of Lakers Daily.

Following the trade, the Nets have emerged as a top candidate to win the title. Harden and the Nets will face the Lakers for the first time this season on February 18.
