Kawhi Leonard shared his thoughts on the performance of Paul George in the season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Leonard explained why George is considered one of the Clippers leaders this season.

“Just because somebody makes shots, doesn’t mean they’re a leader. Last year when he was missing shots, he was still communicating, playing the right way, playing D, they just didn’t fall for him. You just can’t say a leader because you are making shots,” Leonard told reporters, via Tomer Azarly of Clutchpoints.

George scored a game-high 33 points, on 13/18 shooting (5/8 from beyond the arc). Meanwhile, Leonard added 26 for the Clippers, on 10/26 shooting (1/8 from beyond the arc). The Clippers earned the 116-109 victory over the Lakers.
