The New Orleans Pelicans are ‘determined’ to trade Jrue Holiday to an Eastern Conference team this offseason.

According to Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News, the Pelicans don’t want to compete against Holiday and that’s why they want to trade him to an Eastern Conference team.

Townsend also notes this is the main reason why the Dallas Mavericks are not interested in trading for Holiday.

The versatile guard, and one of the best two-way players in the NBA, averaged 19.1 points, 6.7 assists, and 4.8 rebounds for New Orleans last season.
