Lonzo Ball is looking forward to playing with his new backcourt partner Eric Bledsoe, after the Pelicans acquired him in Jrue Holiday’s blockbuster trade with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Bledsoe, a member of All-Defensive Second Team for 2019/2020, is going to bring the same energy with Holiday on the defensive end.

On the plus side, Ball believes he and Bledsoe will be the fastest backcourt duo of the league, as he said to reporters on Friday, per USA Today Sports.

“I think it’ll be kind of the same thing,” he said on Jrue Holiday-Eric Bledsoe comparison. “It’s probably going to be one of the fastest backcourts in the league, so that’s a plus.”

“Just try to get him the ball as much as possible and start the break. I know Eric’s great in transition and I know he’s a great penetrator as well. For me, when he has the ball, give him space, spot up and be ready to knock it down for him.”

The Pelicans are going to look to running the open floor with Ball, Bledsoe and Zion Williamson in the starting five. After a disappointing ending in the 2019/2020 season, the Pelicans will look to start strong on the upcoming season.

The NBA regular season is set to start on December 22.
