The Sacramento Kings consider Alvin Gentry as one of the main candidates to become associate head coach for the team, per Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Pompey reported the Philadelphia 76ers would like to add Gentry to the coaching staff, after the hiring of Doc Rivers.

However, the Kings see the former Pelicans’ head coach as a great replacement for Igor Kokoskov, who agreed to take over EuroLeague’s powerhouse Fenerbahce the past summer.

Gentry, 65, coached the Pelicans for five seasons. He was fired in August following a disappointing performance in the NBA bubble.
