Author and former ESPN NBA Draft Insider, Chad Ford, opened up about the potential Giannis Antetokounmpo had when he moved to the NBA.

Chad admitted he did not see Antetokounmpo before the 2013 NBA Draft, but knew he had great potential. He also said Antetokounmpo was a player that was ‘so hard to scout’.

“I did not see Giannis before the Draft. In talking to all these General Managers at the time, Giannis was one of those guys that everybody loved. They all loved the potential, but no one knew where he was going to land.

He was so hard to scout, because he was so freakish in certain things on the floor and it was hard to see how that would translate to the NBA.

I don’t know a good scout that did not see the potential to be awesome. But also a good scout that could tell you, in definite terms, how he is going to turn out,” Chad said during his recent appearance in the ”World of Basketball” podcast with Fran Fraschilla on SiriusXM.

Antetokounmpo is the superstar of the Milwaukee Bucks and the reigning NBA MVP. A few days ago, he was named the Defensive Player of the Year and is the favorite to win the MVP award for a second straight year.
