Dallas Mavericks big man Kristaps Porzingis will sit out today’s scrimmage after missing a coronavirus test on July 25, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.

Denver Nuggets’ Paul Millsap also mistakenly missed a mandatory coronavirus test and had to sit out the team’s game on July 25.

Players who miss a mandatory test are required to quarantine in their hotel room for a day until they have an additional test come back negative.

Head coach Rick Carlisle believes Porzingis will join the Mavericks on July 27.

“We’ve just got to remember that the details of the situation that we’re involved in are very, very important,” Carlisle said, via Brad Townsend of The Dallas Morning News.

The Mavericks begin their “seeding games” on July 31 against the Houston Rockets.
