The San Antonio Spurs guard/forward DeMar DeRozan gave credit to the San Antonio’s head coach for his stance amid the current social climate.

The Spurs’ star joined Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report and talked about the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement and Gregg Popovich, who openly criticized Donald Trump.

“To see a white man of his stature, he’d be the first one to jump out there, and he don’t care about what no one else thinks.”

“He speaks the truth … you got to love and respect an individual like that,” DeMar DeRozan said about Gregg Popovich.

The Spurs head coach talked about the white privilege in a recent interview slamming even himself for not doing enough.

The San Antonio Spurs are among the 22-franchises that will play in the NBA restart in Orlando. However, the bigger than basketball issue of racial injustice and police brutality is the more urgent matter at hand at this point, especially after the killing of George Floyd and the recent event in Atlanta.
