Kevin Durant talked about the advice he gave Quinn Cook after the latter went undrafted in 2015.
Durant said Cook called him in distress after going undrafted, but Durant advised him to get back in the gym and keep working.
“[Cook] called me when he didn’t get drafted, and he was crying. And I’m like ‘Bro, you’ve got talent. Just keep working.’ He never stopped,” Durant said in the documentary “Basketball County: In the Water”, via Tyler Conway of Bleacher Report.
Cook made his NBA debut in 2017 and won the 2018 title with the Golden State Warriors, playing alongside Durant.
