Former NBA guard Sebastian Telfair has lost his mother and brother after they contracted the coronavirus.

His mother Erica, 64, passed away on April 27 after his older brother Dan Turner passed away roughly a month earlier on March 28, according to Telfair’s former coach Dwayne Morton.

Telfair is the cousin of former NBA star Stephon Marbury.

In an interview with The Undefeated last month, Marbury revealed that Turner had passed away and Erica was battling the virus.

Telfair’s younger brother Ethan posted about his family members’ deaths on social media.

“Let me see them X-rays. I ain’t no expert. We just hurt!” Ethan wrote on his Instagram story.

Last September, Telfair was released on $500,000 bail after he was originally sentenced to 3.5 years in prison in August for gun-related charges.
