The draw for the second round of qualifying for Eurobasket 2015 took place in Barcelona, Spain today as the build up to the FIBA World Cup draw continues.

Eurobasket 2015 is due to take place in the Ukraine and from the start of the draw, the Ukrainian Basketball President Sasha Volkov ensured the tournament’s safety.

“I want to assure you that despite the bad news [coming out of the Ukraine], our preparations for Eurobasket are in full swing,” Volkov said.

“Everything will be great. We will have the best Eurobasket in European history.”

France, Lithuania, Spain, Croatia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Serbia, Finland, Greece and Turkey have already advanced for the tournament in 2015, courtesy of their participation in the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Estonia have also qualified via the first qualification round, which was played out last summer. 

Group A: Bosnia & Herzegovina, Great Britain, Iceland.

Group B: Montenegro, Israel, Bulgaria, Bulgaria, Netherlands.

Group C: Germany, Poland, Austria, Luxembourg.

Group D: Belgium, FYR of Macedonia, Belarus, Denmark.

Group E: Czech Rep, Georgia, Portugal, Hungary.

Group F: Latvia, Sweden, Slovak Rep, Romania.

Group G: Italy, Russia, Switzerland.

The FIBA World Cup draw takes place later on today at 18:00 CET.
