Golden State Warriors started the season hot. Sitting pretty at 12-3 and on form.
But that was as good as it got for the Warriors, as they have since won just seven games out of their last 25 and are currently below .500.
The odds of that after 15 games were slim, but what possible odds can increase for you is looking up the best sportsbooks and seeing reviews from top U.S. sportsbooks, betting methods, and more.
Golden State’s loss to the Miami Heat was the newest example of frustration shown, especially by its superstar, Stephen Curry. Despite going for 31 points, he looked visibly annoyed when a basket from Terry Rozier put Miami up by 18 points and the Olympic gold-medallist grabbed the ball and threw it against the rim.
Despite the loss, Curry still believes in his team to recapture its early form and make waves in the post-season.
“It’s very volatile right now in terms of the emotional roller coaster this year,” Curry told ESPN. “Similar to what it was like that [2021-22 season that ended with a championship]. I think it’s a challenge for us to just try to maintain confidence in what we’re doing, what we’re building.
“And until we run out of time, we have to maintain it.”
Going up against the mighty Boston Celtics might have been the platform needed to get a morale-boosting win and get back on track.
But it wasn’t. Boston brushed the Warriors aside 125-85 for their latest loss as Golden State’s quest for answers to why this form is happening continues.
“We all really want this organization to thrive when we are all gone,” Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr said. And that’s genuine. That’s really rare, but it comes with extreme success.
“It comes with we are on one of the great runs of all time. None of us are bitter or second-guessing anything. We’re all sitting here like, man, let’s ride this thing out with as much competitiveness, joy as possible, and let’s help the organization do everything possible after [we move on].”
But Kerr wants to make it clear to anyone who might think otherwise: The Warriors aren’t waving a white flag on the season. And they are not quitting on their superstar’s mission for a fifth championship.
“What you’re really trying to do is see if you can make some moves at the margins that can help your current team,” Kerr commented. “We are going to do everything we can to be as competitive as possible, to put the best team around Steph as possible without mortgaging the future, and that is the right decision.”
