CSU Asesoft Ploiesti, champion of Romania, received an invitation to play in the EuroCup. They have accepted it.

It will be the clubs 2nd participation in this competition. The Romanian club played during the 2007/08 season in EuroCup (back then ULEB Cup).

This is one of the few, if not the only, clubs accepted in EuroCup and plays in a non-professional national (or regional) league.

The club won the Romanian Championship nine times out of the last 10 seasons.
