Kristaps Porzingis believes that he can be more effective as a center. The Mavericks are preparing for the game against Miami tonight (28/2) and Porzingis is having one of his best stretches this season.

Namely, the Latvian “big” is averaging about 25 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assist per in the last 8 games. In these games, Porzingis played for most of time in the center position.

“I’m trailing all the time now as the big guy. “I’m not just running down and staying in the corner, or on the perimeter waiting for something to happen. So it’s much better like this. I like playing this way much better. That’s what I’m more used to.”

Porzingis has returned to action from a serious knee injury this season, after signing a new max deal with the Dallas Mavericks in the off-season.
