Charlotte Hornets point guard Malik Monk has been suspended for violating the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program.

The NBA reports Monk’s suspension (without pay) will run from Wednesday night until he is determined to be in compliance with said program.

Monk, 22, had been averaging 8.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists for the Hornets up to this point and was making major contributions as of late, having started the season poorly.

He went into the All-Star break on a hot streak and earned his first start of the season on Tuesday night, scoring eight points on 4/13 shooting in a losing effort against the Indiana Pacers.
