Robertas Javtokas will miss London Olympic Games due to an injury. It was decided that the captain of Lithuanian national team won’t be able to play in London after a thorough examination by the doctors.

The 32-year-old center suffered a foot stress fracture already in Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Venezuela. He was forced to play through a very severe pain in Caracas.

There is a very high possibility a full fracture in case the player continues playing. Javtokas will now have a three-week rest before starting a rehabilitation process which will last for month and a half.

Coach Kestutis Kemzura decided to call center Antanas Kavaliauskas who is set to replace Javtokas. The 27-year-old VEF Riga center could make his international debut this summer.

Kavaliauskas has been with the national team until the Olympic Qualifying Tournament and knows the way the team plays. Though he hardly saw much playing time during the friendlies.

Lithuania will face Russian on July 22 and Iceland on July 24 before heading to London.
