Miami Heat star forward Bam Adebayo won’t be lacking in confidence as he prepares to take on the remainder of the 2019/20 season in the wake of his first All-Star appearance.

The former Kentucky man was voted in as an All-Star amid a stellar personal campaign in which he’s averaged 15.8 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 4.9 assists, numbers which certainly don’t spell a lack of confidence. But after achieving something as monumental as an All-Star selection, the forward says his confidence is at an all-time high.

“My confidence is definitely through the roof right now,” he said, per the Sun-Sentinel.

“It hit me toward the end of the game,” he added. “Just looking down the bench and when you’re on the court, you start to realize, ‘I’m an All-Star.’ Great experience for me and I’m looking forward to being back on this stage.”

Adebayo also won the Skills Challenge during Saturday’s All-Star festivities, joining Derrick Jones Jr. as Heat players to have grabbed awards on the night.

The 22-year-old was the least likely to win the competition, according to the bookmakers. Yet he walked through the whole thing quite easily, showing off his ability to knock three-point shots down, something he hasn’t done very often this season.

“I was last to win it [according to Vegas odds],” he said. “So it felt great to prove a lot of people wrong.”
