Even though there were doubts whether Motiejunas will be able to play for Lithuania this summer due to the fact that his potential contract with Houston Rockets won’t be insured, Lithuanian Basketball Federation manged to find a solution.

Motiejunas’ future contract was successfullly insured, just as the one of Jonas Valanciunas. Though Motiejunas didn’t join the training camp.

According to some reports, the player asked coach Kestutis Kemzura for guarantee that he won’t be benched at the national team. Kemzura refused to accept such request and eventually Motiejunas decided to contentrate on his move to the NBA instead of joining the national team.

Despite the above, Kemzura wished all the best for Motiejunas and expressed his wish to see him playing for his country next summer.
