Shocking news came from Germain Ros, president and primary financial source of the Valencian club. Euroleague Women champions 2012, Ros Casares Valencia will cease to exist at senior level.
There were rumours that the club will not continue with the basketball operations especially at the final eight in Istanbul and unfortunately came true despite winning both Spanish League and Euroleague Women. This year, Ros Casares built a star packed squad with a lot of big players and money involved.
The club was founded 13 years ago and had their very best years throughout 2000s including 8 Spanish League, 7 Copa De La Reina and 1 Euroleague titles.
Carma Lluveras, the long time GM of the club commented on the decision and said that in the current domestic and international economic environment, it was impossible to go on for the club.
