TKBL team Istanbul Universitesi strengthened the squad with three impressive signings.
Irina Osipova, who was rumoured to play at Fenerbahce, came from Spartak Moscow and signed for Istanbul Universitesi. As a very experienced Russian national team player, known for her very simple but effective and consistent basketball, she would add too much power to the team if she manages to comeback from her injury properly. Last season, she had to be sidelined until the end of the season after February.
Another important addition, Tugba Palazoglu is a very experienced Turkish national player. Palazoglu played for Galatasaray three seasons, where in 2009, the red-yellow outfit clinched Eurocup Women. Last November, she left for Mersin Buyuksehir Bld. where she managed to play semifinal series against Fenerbahce. Palazoglu contributed with 10.5 points with 50% three points average (38 out of 76).
Latest news came from Essence Carson, who will play for Istanbul Universitesi next season. Carson is known for her contribution to the dream run of Rivas Ecopolis where they played the Euroleague Women Final against Ros Casares Valencia and lost. Carson shined with her punishing three pointers in addition o her effort in defense and adaptation to team-play. Playing for New York Lyberty currently in WBA, she is also famous for her musical skills.
