Maccabi Tel Aviv continues the tradition of signing players that prove themselves in other Israeli teams. Shawn James became the latest addition of the Euroleague finalists.

James, 27, signed a ‘1+1’ deal with the Yellows, according to sport5.co.il. The club will have the option to extend the contract in 2012.

It is reported that the player will earn $350k next season. His wage would get increased to $400k in case Maccabi uses the option to keep him for one more year. James was getting $145k per season at his current club Bnei Hasharon.

In case of contract termination next summer, James will be compensated with $50k.

James who’s height is 2.08 m plays as center and was signed to improve Maccabi’s frontcourt. He averaged 13.2 points, 11.1 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game in Israeli league this season.
