Maccabi Tel Aviv has officially signed Trevion Williams from ALBA Berlin, strengthening its injury-depleted frontcourt for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. The move comes as Maccabi (4-13) seeks to climb out of the lower half of the EuroLeague standings, where ALBA (3-14) currently occupies last place.

Williams, 24, has been a standout performer in his first EuroLeague season, averaging 10.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists across 16 games.

He ranks fourth in the league in rebounding, making him a valuable addition to a Maccabi team dealing with significant injuries to centers Jasiel Rivero, who is sidelined with a torn hamstring, and Wenyen Gabriel.

The American big man made an immediate impact upon arriving in Europe last season. Playing for ratiopharm Ulm in the EuroCup, Williams led the competition in rebounds with 10.8 per game and posted 12 double-doubles, tying a EuroCup single-season record.

His 14.8 points, 4.3 assists, and league-leading Player Index Rating (PIR) of 22.1 made him one of the most dynamic big men in the tournament.

Maccabi hopes Williams can bring his proven versatility and energy to help stabilize its roster. The Tel Aviv-based team has struggled to maintain consistency this season, partly due to injuries and a lack of frontcourt depth.

Before turning professional, Williams enjoyed a standout college career at Purdue University, where he was a teammate of FC Bayern Munich guard Carsen Edwards.

Williams also helped Team USA secure gold at the 2019 U19 World Cup. After going undrafted, he spent the 2022-23 season in the G League with the Santa Cruz Warriors and Capital City Go-Go before transitioning to Europe.
