In the extra period, Mateusz Ponitka took over and scored nine of his team 20 points to seal the deal for the Russians.
Ponitka posted a game-high 20 points for the winners, whereas Edgaras Ulanovas and Zach LeDay had 12 points apiece for the losing squad.
Both teams now have identical records (2-3).
