Another BBL season, another – for the sixth year in a row – new champion. This time EWE Baskets Oldenburg took the crown in the final seconds of Game 5 of the BBL Finals, beating Telekom Baskets Bonn, who had been up by three 23 seconds from the buzzer when their point guard, EJ Rowland, attempted the first of his two free throws to put the game out of reach.
