The Russian National team coach, David Blatt, spoke about the team's chances in the upcoming Eurobasket 2009 and admitted that their priority for now is to qualify for World Championship 2010 in Turkey.
Blatt stated: "We comprehend that we have a chance to build a new team. But we are not looking too far ahead and we are prepared to fight for good results in Eurobasket 2009. I guess that after winning Eurobasket 2007 the expectations rose but we are not feeling any real pressure." and continued:
"The team's morale is good, players work hard and I believe we are in a position to qualify to World Championship 2010 (Top teams of Eurobasket 2009 automatically qualify to World Championshio 2010) and this will be our priority.
